PM Modi to inaugurate AERO India 2015; focus Make in India

New Delhi Feb 11 (KNN) Defence manufacturing and airport infrastructure besides aerospace, defence and civil aviation are some of the several sectors which will be a part of Aero India-2015 , the 10th international edition of the aerospace and aviation exhibition in Bengaluru.

AERO India, one of the largest premium airshows in Asia will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This will be held from February 18-22. Over 600 companies and CEOs of around 300 Indian and foreign industries are expected to participate in the show.

Besides Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh which will have Special Economic Zone (SEZ) pavilions, heads and representatives from the Indian armed forces and paramilitary forces, a record number of small and medium enterprises are also attending the event.

In long gestation and high technological risk projects, 80% of the development cost of a weapon prototype will be funded by government whereas 20 per cent will be funded by the industry. The officials said that in case of MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) involvement the funding could go up to 100%.

Empowering and incentivizing Indian MSMEs in defence and aerospace sectors, creation of infrastructure, public-private partnership, integrating Indian aerospace industry into a global supply chain, are among some of the topics to be featured at the CII, FICCI and PHD held airshow seminars.

The show organised by Defence Exhibition Organisation (DEO) under the aegis of Ministry of Defence is expected to give momentum to Make in india in defence manufacturing. (KNN/SS)
