Prime minister to launch national job portal on July 20

Gandhinagar, Jul 16 (KNN) As part of an endeavour to modernise all government-run employment exchanges, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch National Career Counselling Portal on July 20.

Union Minister of State for Labour, Bandaru Dattatreya recently said that the initiative being set up under the National Career Service (NCS) project aimed at transforming all the government-run employment exchanges. The employment exchanges will also serve as counselling centres, he said.

He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the regional conference of Gujarat labour ministers held in Gandhinagar.

Dattatreya said that there are about 982 employment exchanges in India. In the first phase, the government has planned to modernise and transform 100 of these, for which a sum of Rs 190 crore has been allocated.

Under this project, employment exchanges will be modernised and put them under a national web portal, which will act as a one-stop platform for both job seekers and job providers where registration can be done online, he said.

He added that apart from searching and applying for jobs on our portal, candidates can also avail career-related counselling by either visiting these centres or through our helpline numbers. (KNN Bureau)
