Puneet Kumar is AEPC's new Secretary General

New Delhi, Dec 20 (KNN)  Puneet Kumar has joined the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) as Secretary General, with effect from November-29. 
 
He brings to the job vast experience in handling complex administrative, financial project management and e-governments issues.
 
Prior to this assignment he was posted in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under Government of India, looking after PPP policy, planning, Infrastructure financing, bidding and concessional documents in Highway Section.  
 
An IAS officer of the 1993 batch of Kerala cadre, Kumar is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and post graduate in Thermal Engineering from IIT, Delhi. 
 
After joining the Indian Administrative Service, he has worked in a number of capacities in the Government of Kerala’s Revenue Department, Co-operation Department (as Managing Director of K.S. CARD Branch and Kerala Marketfed etc.), Technical Education Department, Excise Department and Department of Agriculture. 
 
Kumar has also served in the state of Jammu and Kashmir on deputation. 
 
He has also been with the Ministries of Law and Justice, Corporate Affairs, Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Defense Production and Supplies, Railways, Women and Child Development.  
 
In addition, he has been assigned the duty of Quota Administering Authority (QAA) under the provisions of the Garment and Knitwear Export Entitlement (Quota) Policy by Government of India.  Till 2004, AEPC was the Quota Monitoring Body.   (KNN/ES)
