Punjab Innovation Council to honour high impact innovations in agriculture

“The primary goal of this call is to select innovations relevant to Punjab and reward innovators of selected innovations for providing novel solutions to address key challenges in agriculture sector of Punjab,” said PSInC.
Entries are invited from all across the country and the five best entries which can contribute to sustainable development of Punjab will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each. Last date for application is March-4.
Innovations submitted must pertain to agriculture, animal husbandry, agri-technology, agri-industry, agri-business, agri-biomass utilization, secondary agriculture; or any other allied aspects.
Further, innovations should be in the form of technology, process, product, services or any other. Also, they must have shown demonstrable impact and must be operational for at least one year. Only entries exhibiting on-going / implemented innovations will be considered. Any submission regarding mere ideas will not be considered. Significantly, the innovation should have applicability/relevance/scope of extension to the state of Punjab.
Innovators who are Indian citizens from public and private institutions/organizations registered in India including academic institutions / R&D institutions / Govt. department /NGO / Company etc. may apply. However, individual applicants without any affiliation to a registered organization are not eligible.
Punjab State Innovation Council (PSInC) has been constituted by Government of Punjab with an aim to provide solutions related to basic human needs for the people at the bottom of the pyramid and to create new affordable opportunities in key areas relevant to state of Punjab. (KNN/ES)
