Railways roll out new online vendor registration system

New Delhi, Jan 10 (KNN) In line with the flagship project Digital India, the Ministry of Railways launched ‘New Online Vendor Registration System’ under Research Designs & Standards Organization (RDSO). The online system will help the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) secure business with the railways in a smooth manner, a release from the department said.

The new system provides major favorable changes in registration system.

Salient features of this new system include:

Procedures like deposit of registration fee, submission of documents, downloading technical drawings and interaction with RDSO online are introduced in new digitize system to make process simpler and user friendly for vendors.

Now, both document scrutiny and physical verification will start parallel to reduce cycle timelines.

System generated alerts to concerned officials will be sent in cases where there are timelines.

For centralized monitoring of procedure, management dashboard has been provided.

Also to ensure wider coverage of vendors and industries, RDSO has invited Expression of Interest (EOI) with no timelines.

For new small businessmen, this online platform will provide tremendous opportunity to grow and create new jobs, the release further said.

Regular updation of online data, user-friendly interface, round-the-year services, availability of information on RDSO website, constant monitoring at all levels, and simplification of time consuming procedures are some of the key services of newly launched portal. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/MG)
