Rajasthan Cabinet clears country’s first sewerage, waste water treatment policy

Jaipur, Aug 3 (KNN) Rajasthan Cabinet has approved a sewerage and waste water policy, first in the country, under which a network of pipeline will be created to accumulate sewerage and waste water other than rainwater to make water usable for irrigation and other purposes and also to check water logging.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore told media persons that the policy will be implemented for a period of 30 years in all the district headquarters and cities having population of over one lakh.

The second phase of Mukhyamantri Jal Swavalamban yojna will be commenced from November 16.

The second phase of the programme, under which works are done to create water conservation structures, will cover 4,200 villages.

Rajasthan is the first state in the country to come out with the policy.
