Rajasthan Govt sees huge scope for setting up custard apple processing units in state

Jaipur, Sep 20 (KNN) Rajasthan Government is organizing the ‘Global Agritecg Meet (GRAM)’in November this year in which 20 per cent participants out of 50,000 will be women, State Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said.

While addressing the ceremony organised for foundation stone laying and dedicating to public various development works in Dausa on Monday, Raje said after the success of ‘Resurgent Rajasthan’ Conclave the state government is organising GRAM.

She said till now her government has provided employment to 9.5 lakh people in both government and private sector.

A series of tweets under Resurgent Rajasthan said Government of Rajasthan sees a huge scope for setting up custard apple processing units in the state to separate the edible pulp from the seeds.

It said a new bigger & heavier variety of custard apple known as Saraswati Sevan is being researched by the scientists here.

Rajasthan’s dry & hot climate is suitable for the cultivation of custard apple (Sitafal), a fruit rich in vitamins. Rajasthan has set up a centre of excellence for custard apple in Chittorgarh.

People in Rajasthan have entrepreneurship skills and there is vast potential for small scale units in the state, it said adding the GoR will organize industrial exhibitions, buyer-seller meets and Make in India programs at the district level. (KNN Bureau)
