Rajnath Singh inaugurates PM Kaushal Kendra, skill development-entrepreneurship on focus

New Delhi, Oct 23 (KNN) Eyeing at promotion of skill development among youth in smart cities, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan today inaugurated India’s first Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) in the national capital.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), an executive arm of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), has collaborated with New Delhi Municipal Council Smart City Limited (NDMCSCL) to set up PMKK centres in Delhi to provide skill training to unemployed youth, an official release from Ministry of Skill development informed.

The release further said that the centre will be managed by Orion Edutech, NSDC’s affiliated training partner.

Rajnath Singh during the inaugural event said that India has the privilege of being a young nation and would gain from its demographic dividend and the skill development centers would aspire youth to take up vocational training to become self-reliant.

Also Dharmendra Pradhan said that collaboration is the need of the hour to support inclusive and sustainable development in the country and skilled workforce is required for effective development of any big or small project.

Key government officials including Meenakshi Lekhi, Naresh Kumar, Chairman, NDMC,  other senior officials from MUHA, MSDE, NSDC and NDMC were present at the event. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/AG)
