Raymond launches its variant of ‘Raymond Khadi’

New Delhi, May 20 (KNN) The textile and apparel giant Raymond recently launched its Khadi product for its consumers both in India and abroad. The company launched its brand of khadi in collaboration with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).

Earlier the company placed an order of 2 crore rupees for the supply measuring 98000 metres of Khadi fabric, following which the KVIC had allowed Raymond to sell it with the brand name.

Minister of State for the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Giriraj Singh during the launch event told reporters that the MSME Ministry and the Khadi Commission have been taking various steps to revive the MSME units that are associated in the making of these products. Collaboration with world class brands is yet another step in the line. This will act as a boost to the units that are operating in the sector.

VK Saxena, KVIC Chairman who was also present at the event said that big brands selling khadi will help the artisans in the country and will encourage employment in the traditional Industries.

Also the Minister few days back  announced the vision of the Khadi Commission to employ over 5 crore people in the industry in the next 5 years. (KNN/ DA)
