Refineries can obtain BIS registration for gold-dore import by May 31, 2018

New Delhi, Aug 25 (KNN) The time period of obtaining BIS registration has been extending by one year and accordingly the refineries holding authorization from DGFT for importing gold-dore can obtain BIS registration/ licence by May 31, 2018.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) had said that with effect from June 1, 2017, only those applications for grant of gold-dore shall be considered where applicant refinery holds a valid licence from BIS.

 DGFT clarified that applicant refineries seeking authorization for the first time, may submit valid document of their accreditation with NABL to DGFT for consideration of grant of authorization for importing gold-dore.

“Such applicants may obtain BIS license within a period of one year, from the date of authorization granted by DGFT,” the Trade Notice by DGFT said. (KNN Bureau)
