Mumbai, May 20 (KNN)  With an aim to outsource the management of its 20 toll plazas on minimum guaranteed toll revenue model, Reliance Infrastructure has invited bids from different agencies.

Reliance infrastructure is one of the country’s largest private concessionaires of highways in India which implements projects on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.  With around 11 road projects based on toll, the company has 20 toll plazas and 201 lanes in states such as Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, etc.

The agency will be required to manage the toll plaza on the Electronic Toll Management System (ETMS) and collect and deposit toll fee from the users to the Escrow account.

An Escrow account is where the money is delivered to a third party or put in trust by one party to a contract to be returned after fulfilment of some condition.

The outsourced agency will also be responsible for the provision of security, housekeeping, traffic management and good customer service for the users.

At present, Reliance Infrastructure has eleven projects with a total length of 968 kms, costing around Rs 11700 crores.  Out of them, NK Toll and DS Toll Road projects; both on National highways (NH) 7 have been completed and are commercially in operation from September 2009.

The company has targeting to expand the road business up to Rs 20,000 crores by end of this financial year.

Recently, five National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects have been won by Reliance Infra.

The projects awarded to the company are four laning of NH 11 between Jaipur and Reengus of length 52 km in Rajasthan, six laning of NH 4 between Pune and Satara of length 140 km in Maharashtra, six laning of NH 7 between Hosur and Krishnagiri of length 60 km in Tamil Nadu, six laning of NH 2 between Delhi and Agra of length 180 km in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, and four / six laning of NH 8A between Kandla and Mundra Ports of length 72 km in Gujarat.
