Restrictions on import of yellow peas extended till September 30, 2018

New Delhi, July 2 (KNN) The Commerce Ministry has extended the ban on import of yellow peas till September 30, 2018.The government, amending the import policy of Yellow Peas (Pisum sativum), had put it on the restricted list through a notification on April 25, 2018.

The move aimed to arrest declining prices of peas in the domestic market.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification, “The restriction on import of Peas classified under Exim Code 0713 10 00 (including Yellow peas, Green peas, Dun peas and Kaspa peas,) effective till 30/06/2018 as per the Notification No. 04/2015-2020 dated 25/04/2018, is further extended till 30th September, 2018.”
