New Delhi, Mar 7 (KNN) Romania furniture association is organising two furniture fairs this year which is between 25-27 March and 22-25 September at Romexpo centre- the biggest exhibition centre in Romania.

The second one which will take place in September is an international fair- BIFE- SIM, showcasing furniture, accessories and equipment fair at Bucharest, Romania.

Romania’s export in the first 6 months of the last year (2021)- furniture related objects amounts to over EUR 1.1 billion.

The statistics show that Romania exports more than it produces, therefore we can conclude that it also imports, said BIFE- SIM.

Romania mainly exports furniture in the UE, namely Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Czech Republic, etc., and is now importing unfinished products, raw materials of modular furniture to the whole Europe.

However there is shortage of aged wood in Romania due to climate change restrictions.

The total trade exchanges between Romania and India have been fluctuating over the last 5 years, but mainly they took advantages of the positive economic achievements of the two countries.

In 2016, 2017 and 2018 the bilateral trade have rebounded on an upward slope , following by a small decrease in 2019 and a bigger one in 2020.

The year 2020 was a difficult year for both countries, and is obvious that the pandemic had an impact on the bilateral economic and trade relation. But for the first 3 month of the year 2021, the total trade registered an increase of 34.0 per cent. (KNN Bureau)
