Hyderabad, Feb 8 (KNN) The Government will soon announce a Rs 125 crore scheme under which the pharmaceutical units in different clusters will be able to set up common infrastructure facilities with the financial support from the centre.

The financial support can go up to 70 per cent subject to a limit of Rs 20 crore for each cluster for common facilities like effluent treatment plant, logistics and training, a senior official of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers said here yesterday.

The scheme will be applicable in the clusters with a minimum of 15 pharmaceutical units within a radius of 10 kms, he said.

The official, who was here to attend a CII meeting, said the government support will also be available for preparing the detailed project report for setting up the common facilities.

In the wake of increased scrutiny about the quality checks, the pharmaceutical units in the MSME sector face a challenge of ensuring the global quality standards even as they have to operate on small budget. (KNN Bureau)
