Rs 30,160 cr loans sanctioned to SC, ST & women entrepreneurs under Stand-Up India Scheme since 2016

New Delhi, April 5 (KNN) The Stand-Up India scheme has approved more than Rs 30,160 crore loans to SC, ST & women entrepreneurs since its launch in April, 2016.

Commemorating the 6th anniversary of the scheme, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed that so far the scheme has facilitated about 1.33 lakh new job-creators and entrepreneurs.

In view of number of accounts and sanctions, Rs 24809.89 crore has been sanctioned so far to women entrepreneurs with total account number of 108250 which is higher than the rest two categories, as per the data released by the Finance Ministry.

For SC, a total Rs 3976.84 crore was sanctioned to 19310 accounts while under the ST category Rs 24809.89 crore have been sanctioned to 6435 accounts over the span of six years.

“As more and more beneficiaries from the underserved segments of entrepreneurs are targeted for coverage, we would make significant strides towards building an Atmanirbhar Bharat,” added the Finance Minister.

The Stand-Up India scheme was extended for the entire period coinciding with the 15th Finance Commission period of 2020-25, in the fiscal year 2019-20. (KNN Bureau)
