In an interview to Economics Times, Chauhan said, “SAP already has very deep roots in India. I was pleasantly surprised how much of our solutions have penetrated into the country. And it is not just restricted to the usual suspects L&T, Reliance, Mahindra and Mahindra. It has come down to mid-sizes and small organisations which are leveraging our technological solutions to improve their business.”
Speaking about the mandates before the company for success, he said that the mandate is three fold. “The first is to drive this change towards cloud. Second is to go after the mid-size market, where we would like to make our technology available. Third, we need to build an ecosystem of relationships.”
“We are going after this mid-market, where we would like to make our technology available. This segment, mid-market is about 50 per cent of our market and we want to take it to 70 per cent of our total revenues in the next 24 months,” SAP MD said on opportunities in the SME sector.
SAP India is an enterprise resource planning software vendor. Chauhan was appointed as the new MD in SAP India in April. He joined SAP after four years at Juniper Networks, where he last served as managing director for India and South Asia. Before Juniper, Chauhan held leadership roles at Nortel Networks.
