Segment-wise industrial performance

New Delhi, Sep 13 (KNN) Industrial production grew by 2.6 per cent in July year-on-year with the help of drastic improvement in several segments. However, there are several other sectors which are still in the negative zone.


Industry segments showing positive growth:  

• Electrical machinery and apparatus (83.6 per cent)
• Wearing apparel, dressing and dyeing of fur (44 per cent)
• Luggage, handbags, saddlery, harness, footwear, tanning and dressing of leather products (16.5 per cent)
• Apparels (39.8 per cent)
• Leather garments (62.6 per cent)
• Ayurvedic medicaments (44.6 per cent)
• Cable, rubber insulated (336.0 per cent)
• Ship building and repairs (58.7 per cent)

Industry segments still in the negative zone:

• Radio, television and communication equipment (20.8 per cent)
• Furniture manufacturing (11.3 per cent)
• Machinery equipment (10.6 per cent)
• Grinding wheels (29.4 per cent)
• Sugar machinery (27.9 per cent)
• Plastic machinery and moulding machinery (40.7 per cent)
• Telephone instruments (including mobile phones and accessories) (21.5 per cent)
• Gems and jewellery (20.5 per cent) (KNN)
