Self employment is a key to self-reliance and self-confidence: Uttarakhand CM

Dehradun, June 25 (KNN) Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawat urged the youth of the state to avail the self-employment opportunities being rolled out to them shedding the traditional fascination with government jobs.

He was addressing the 4^th National SC/ST Hub State Conclave.

Terming self-employment as a key to self-reliance and self-confidence, he said that if the youth take a pledge to become self dependent a path of success is automatically created for them.

Further, he added that work of empowering through skill development on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being done in an effective manner and various schemes are being run by the Central Government to create more opportunities for employment and self- employment.

Speaking at the conclave, Rawat assured to lend full support of his government in implementing the Centre’s schemes.

The CM said that the state government is encouraging the production and use of local grains.

Also he informed that the PM has set targets for the implementation of the welfare schemes for SCs and STs Category.

To promote entrepreneurship among the SC and STs, he added that the government is making continuous efforts to implement various welfare schemes.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh said that the benefits and cooperation of all the schemes of the Government of India are being given to the State Government.

Supporting the schemes, he said cluster based schemes are being promoted in every district by the government and special focus is being laid to promote entrepreneurship among SCs and STs.

Emphasizing on the need to protect and nurture the traditional craft and enterprises, Union Minister of State for Textiles Ajay Tamta said that their artisans and people associated with various traditional works have a significant place in self-employment and rural life.

On this occasion, an information directory related to the details of SC/ST entrepreneurs of Uttarakhand was also released by Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
