Shendra-Bidkin industrial area in Maharashtra to have world class city

New Delhi, Aug 25 (KNN) Delhi - Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC) wants to develop a world class city in the Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area in Maharashtra with industry as the main driver of the economy, as part of the DMIC project.
“The total area of Shendra – Bidkin Industrial Area is 84 square kilometres and the Phase I of the proposed development is around 40.42 square kilometres. The objective of DMICDC is to create a world class city in the region with industry as the main driver of economic development and employment with supporting social and commercial infrastructure,” official data indicates.
A comprehensive concept master plan has been prepared which includes the proposed land uses, strategy and framework. The broad vision for the Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area is to become a showcase of Maharashtra‘s leading manufacturing industries‘ with the principles such as: Integrate smart growth within a new sustainable township; Identify high-value manufactured products with high export potential; Maintain a unique cultural heritage; Provide a healthy quality of life.
The Government of India has envisaged the development of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) along the alignment of proposed Multi-modal High Axle Load Dedicated Freight Corridor between Delhi and Mumbai, covering an overall length of 1,483 km. The DMIC envisages the development of seven cites / nodes across six states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Further, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC) a special purpose company was incorporated to establish, promote and facilitate the development of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project. DMICDC works with the respective State Governments for undertaking various project development activities including but not limited to feasibility studies, preparation of master plans and development plans.
In this context, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC) – New Delhi wishes to engage a consultant for obtaining Programme Management Services for the Shendra – Bidkin Industrial Area (SBIA) being developed under the DMIC Project. (KNN/ES)
