Sick CPSEs to be revived and restructured

New Delhi, Mar 8 (KNN)Out of the 67 sick Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)referred to the Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises (BRPSE) up to October 2012, 62 cases have been recommended by the Board. 
Among those recommended were Hindustan Salts Limited, Tyre Corporation of India Limited, National Textiles Corporation Limited and its subsidiaries, Madras Fertilisers Limited, TriveniStructurals Limited, Hindustan Copper Limited and Scooters India Limited.
The balance five cases were returned to the concerned administrative Ministries and Departments for further examination.
Notably, the number of sick CPSEs, which was 90 in 2004-05, came down to 66 in March 2012.

Set up in 2004, BRPSEis an advisory body to the government on revival and restructuring of sick public sector undertakings. (KNN/SK)
