New Delhi, Jul 31 (KNN)  The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) expects a 10 per cent growth in its loan disbursement to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the current financial year.

"SIDBI disbursed Rs 40,000 crore last year. It is expected to increase this year by 10 per cent," said a media report quoting Deputy Manager, SIDBI, N K Maini who was speaking on the side-lines of a conference organized by PHD Chamber here yesterday.

In the year 2012-13, the financial institution that provides loans to MSMEs directly and indirectly had disbursed Rs 40,000 crore.

Last year, SIDBI had identified four niche areas where MSMEs need support - risk capital, receivable financing, financing services sector and sustainable financing.

"SIDBI has repositioned its business model. We have created certain niche areas of financing. These are the areas where SIDBI is trying to provide fund to MSMEs," Maini said.
