Skill Development Centre to come up in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam, June 3 (KNN) Former Union minister Suresh Prabhu has laid the foundation stone for the construction of a skill development centre on the premises of government ITI in Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam.
Speaking on the occasion, Prabhu said that one skill development centre will be developed in each of the 13 (undivided) districts in the state with an estimated 9.1 crore under the members of Parliament local area development scheme (MPLADS).
A total amount of Rs 40 lakh will be spent on construction of each centre, and Rs 30 lakh will be allocated to the skill development equipment. Gajuwaka MLA T Nagireddy said the skill development centre is being developed on about five-acre land.
“Skillset has become more important for the students than mere certificates or degrees as it has become an integral part of every academic programme,” said Prabhu.
Emphasising on his responsibility as a member of Rajya Sabha he said that it’s his duty to meet the local expectations and needs.
Earlier, he handed over the keys of an advanced life support ambulance here at Visakhapatnam collectorate to district Collector A. Mallikarjuna. (KNN Bureau)
