Skill training to youth by PSUs

New Delhi, Aug 11 (KNN) All the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Department of Heavy Industry (DHI) have been instructed to provide training to youth in their respective sectors, the Parliament was informed today.

PSUs under DHI have been given the target to skill 40,000 persons in the year 2015-16 by National Skill Development Council. However, separate funds have not been allocated to the PSUs from this Department for this purpose, Minister of State in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, G M Siddeshwara said in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
 
The performance of PSUs towards skill development is monitored on monthly and quarterly basis to improve the performance, he added.
 
PSUs, like Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Rajasthan Electricals & Instruments Ltd., Instrumentation Ltd., Andrew Yule & Company Ltd., Bharat Pumps & Compressors Ltd., Hooghly Printing Company Ltd., Cement Corporation of India Ltd. are providing training on various subjects such as Advance Management Programme, General Management Programme, Strategic Management Programme, Young Managers Programmes, operation of Electronic Equipment, Test Repair at Instrument level, Test and Repair of Printed Circuit Board, Cables, Power Supply, Mobile Repairing & Servicing, Refrigeration and JAVA, C++, Dot Net, Visual Basic, MS SQL, Oracle, MS Office etc. in the Information Technology Sector.
