Skilled manpower requirement in real estate services to reach 140 lakh in 2022

New Delhi, Aug 6 (KNN) The incremental requirement of skilled manpower in Real Estate Services by the year 2022 is 140 lakh, according to a study conducted by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The Minister of State for Mines, Steel and Labour and Employment, Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the Ministry of Labour and Employment is implementing vocational training program in the country under several schemes to provide skilled labour force including real estate services across the country.

Some of the schemes are - Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) implemented through 11, 001 ITIs with more than 15 lakhs seating capacity; Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS) under the Apprentices Act, 1961 through 28,500 industrial establishment with a total of 3.59 lakh seats identified; and Skill Development initiative (SDI) Scheme, based on Modular Employment Skills (MES) through 9420 Vocational Training Providers, including training and recognition of prior learning (RPL) for increasing the productivity and upgradation of the skill of construction workers.

The Minister said that the government has set up the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) with mandate, inter-alia, to take all possible steps to meet skilling targets as envisaged in the 12th Five Year Plan and beyond.  The Government of India is funding skill development activities through 70 schemes being implemented by 20 Ministries/ Departments. (KNN/SD)
