Solar power plant to energise industries in DMICDC at Neemrana

Jaipur, Jul 7 (KNN) A solar power project is being developed at Neemrana in Rajasthan under the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor project.  A special purpose vehicle (SPV) - Neemrana Solar Power Company Ltd has already been incorporated for implementing the project.

The Government has formed a SPV named the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Ltd (DMICDC) for the implementation of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) projects with the six State Governments and Ministries associated with the Government of India. DMICDC has further formed a SPV for Setting up the 6.00 MW Model Solar Power Project in Neemrana named “DMICDC Neemrana Solar Power Company Limited (DMICDC – NSPCL).

The Model Solar Power Project at Neemrana, Rajasthan is a unique initiative of the Delhi - Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited and has been conceived as the First Smart Micro - Grid Project in the country demonstrating the concept of integration of Solar Power with industrial Diesel Generator sets.

“It is a project that will not only produce green power but also endeavours to save on CO2 emissions by cutting down on diesel consumption. The project will have the latest cutting edge technological breakthroughs in the field of Solar Generation and Smart Grid from Japan,” DMICDC-NSPCL said in a statement.

DMICDC – NSPCL has invited bids from private firms for engineering, procurement and construction services for the project on turnkey basis along with comprehensive operation and maintenance for a period of 10 years at Neemrana Industrial Park, Japanese zone, at Neemrana in Alwar district of Rajasthan.

Neemrana comes under Delhi NCR region and it is an industrial hub. This area is also known as Raath region. The Rajasthan government, through Rajasthan Industrial Cooperation (RIICO), has developed industrial zones in various stages in Neemrana in the past several years. Apart from the usual industrial areas, the Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) and the Japanese Zone in Majarkanth has been set up here.

Companies from India and abroad have set up their units in these industrial areas contributing towards economic growth and creating new employment opportunities. (KNN/SD)
