Sports Minister invites Dutch Sports Industry to do business in India and from India

New Delhi, Dec 1 (KNN) Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel has invited the Dutch Sports Industry to do business in India and from India.

Inaugurating the colourfield concept here today the minister said in no time people will witness the change in demand for sports infra and sports goods industry.

Goel said India and The Netherlands create a world class Sports ecosystem which will have access to safe, smart and sustainable sports infrastructure for all age groups and an ecosystem which support excellence in sports.

The minister said that he forsees development in sports not just in metros but would like to co-create opportunities for the rural and semi-rural spaces across India.

He said efficiently planned, easily accessible, green sporting and wellness infrastructures and coaching will have a very positively impact on the society and will definitely make the cities more livable and people happier.

From the Dutch side, Minister’s special Envoy for international cooperation Hans Docter and Ambassador of Netherlands in India Alphonsus Stoelinga were present on the occasion.

Secretary sports and DG SAI Shri Injeti Srinivas was also present at the inaugural ceremony.

In a bilateral partnership between the Indian Government, the Dutch Government and a Dutch consortium of companies working under the organisation Dutch Sports Infrastructure, India and the Netherlands launch the Colourfield concept at JLN Stadium.

Colourfield is a multi-functional, sustainable, mini sports arena that combines a social sports education programme with a high level innovative multi-sports facility, including a solar lighting centre, rain water harvesting and clean drinking water. This initiative is propelled by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in India as part of the MoU signed between the Ministry (MYAS) and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport of Netherlands on 30th January, 2014.
