AWS Partners With Tamil Nadu Tech Hub To Launch AI Start-Up Program

Chennai, Jul 16 (KNN) Amazon Web Services (AWS) India has announced a collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Technology (iTNT) Hub to launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) start-up hub program.

The initiative aims to foster the development of generative AI solutions for public-sector initiatives through Tamil Nadu's start-up ecosystem.

The program will facilitate collaboration between start-ups and industry partners to create solutions for government, healthcare, education, and non-profit sectors, focusing on AI, generative AI, and deep-tech applications.

Start-ups will be solicited and shortlisted based on their potential to address public sector needs.

Sunil PP, Lead of Channels and Alliances, AWS India's Public Sector, stated, “The partnership seeks to nurture a start-up community that has core capabilities and strengths in generative AI, accelerate innovation using generative AI, and help public sector organisations implement solutions that can create positive and scalable impact in society.”

iTNT Hub, established at Anna University in Chennai by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Information Technology and Digital Services Department, will provide mentorship to founders from over 570 affiliated engineering colleges.

The hub will offer access to research opportunities, sectoral guidance, and funding avenues for start-ups in incubation.

As part of the program, eligible start-ups will receive up to USD 10,000 in AWS credits to develop solutions using AWS services, including generative AI tools such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, and Amazon SageMaker.

AWS will also consider onboarding qualifying start-ups to the AWS Partner Network (APN) to support product acceleration and market expansion.

Vanitha Venugopal, CEO, iTNT Hub, emphasised the value of the collaboration, stating, "Collaborating with a global technology leader like AWS gives us access to the latest technology, innovation methodologies, and best practices, and enables start-ups to jumpstart their innovation and growth journey with subject-matter expertise on cloud and generative AI."

This partnership represents a significant step in promoting AI innovation and entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu's technology sector, with potential implications for public service delivery and technological advancement in the region.
