IGIC 2024 Summit Kicks Off In Bengaluru, Focuses On Start-up Ecosystem & Digital Future

New Delhi, Jun 7 (KNN) The third edition of the India Global Innovation Connect (IGIC) commenced on Thursday in Bengaluru, bringing together global and domestic leaders to chart a roadmap for supporting India's digital transformation and start-up ecosystem.

The summit witnessed a convergence of key industry stakeholders, including Indian and international start-up founders, venture capitalists, investors, corporate executives, government representatives, and technology and public policy experts.

The participants engaged in a series of keynote addresses and panel discussions exploring critical topics such as India's attractiveness as an investment destination for start-ups, riding the digital consumer revolution wave, outlining a path for India to join the ranks of the world's top semiconductor players, and envisioning India's technology future for the next five years.

Claude Smadja, Chairman, Smadja & Smadja Strategic Advisory, highlighted India's significant strides in deep tech, health tech, semiconductors, and aerospace technologies.

He suggested that the new Central government should focus on accelerating and expanding existing initiatives rather than introducing new policies at this stage.

B V Naidu, Chairman, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), lauded India's digitisation success story, with 1.1 billion out of 1.3 billion people connected to the internet.

He cited the 15 billion UPI transactions worth USD 250 billion last month as evidence of the government's push for digital transformation.

Naidu emphasised that India's large population, coupled with social and urban challenges, presents immense potential for innovative technology solutions.

The IGIC summit aims to foster technology and business interactions and synergies between India's ecosystems and various foreign ecosystems, identify and assess emerging opportunities from disruptive technologies, and facilitate new business partnerships.
