Nellore, Feb 1 (KNN)  Krishnapatnam International Leather Complex Private Limited (KPILC) which is promoted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, is developing a state of the art leather park here, in a bid to promote leather production.

Spread across 360 acres of land, the leather park will be established in Kothapatnam village under the mega leather cluster scheme of Indian Leather Development Programme (ILDP) of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The cluster shall have units dedicated to manufacturing of leather and leather products namely footwear, footwear components, leather goods (including gloves), leather garments and saddlery and harness items etc.

The assistance received from the government under the Scheme would be suitably passed on to the allottees of plots.

To assess specific requirements of the leather industry, KPILC invites expression of interest from prospective entrepreneurs who are interested in setting up units in the proposed park.

The exercise is merely to assess requirements of entrepreneurs and not an invitation for allotment of plots.

Krishnapatnam International Leather Complex Private Limited (KPILC) is an SPV incorporated by APIIC and LIDCAP.

KPILC is in advanced stage of securing required environmental clearances. Grant Thornton India LLP has been appointed as the Project Development Management Consultant (PDMC) for the project.  (KNN/ES)
