Surat, 12 Jan (KNN) The Surat International Textile Expo (SITEX) 2022 recorded INR 250 crore, which was a 3-day event.

It was organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trader and Industrial Development Council.

Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways Darshana Jardosh inaugurated the expo in presence of state BJP president CR Paatil.

Over 75 exhibitors from Surat and other parts of the country took part in the expo with machines made in European countries, as well as China and Japan.

The latest textile machinery was majorly inquired by the exhibitors, said SGCCI chairman Ashish Gujarati.

He further said, earlier China was a major supplier of polyester bed-sheets for hotels and hospitals across the world, now the majority of such orders have come to Surat.
