Tata Communications invites bright minds of India to participate in ‘The Grand India IoT Innovation Challenge’

New Delhi, Sept 4 (KNN) At the backdrop of making India the next innovation hub in the world, Tata Communications is inviting the bright minds of India to participate in ‘The Grand India IoT Innovation Challenge’.

The 3 month long innovation challenge on Internet of Things (IoT) is open to engineering students from 26 colleges and universities across India.

This challenge will provide a platform to design and create innovative solutions that can directly impact millions of lives.

In this challenge, students will have to build prototypes and Internet of Things (IoT) based solutions on the theme of ‘Solutions that create a better society’ on LoRaWANTM specifications.

The students will have access to Tata Communications’ dedicated IoT network, IoT platform and mentorship and an opportunity to compete for prizes.

Tata Communications is aggressively focusing on building capabilities across the IoT stack to be a leader in the rapidly growing IoT ecosystem space. Not restricting itself to just connectivity, the company is working towards building a technology-agnostic platform and provides end-to-end industrial IoT solutions, which will provide enterprise customers an ubiquitous, seamless, consistent and affordable IoT experience.

“We are rapidly progressing towards a future where people and devices are all connected. Unless there is awareness of the true potential of IoT as a ‘public good’ to be shared by all, its commercial and social potential won’t be truly realized in India.” said VS Shridhar, Senior Vice President & Head, Internet of Things, Tata Communications.

He said ‘The Grand India IoT Innovation Challenge’ is Tata Communications’ endeavor to invest in and nurture India’s youth by giving them the platform to apply their academic learning to a practical scenario, by prototyping innovative IoT solutions.

This practical experience will benefit them hugely as they enter the job markets and get ready to take on real life civic and corporate challenges, he added.

The last date for idea phase registration is Sept 6, 2018 and the names of shortlisted candidates will be announced on September 14, 2018 for building Prototypes.
