TBI–NITC to start Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme in Food Processing

Calicut, Oct 24 (KNN) The Technology Business Incubator (TBI) along with National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) will start   Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme 2016 in Food Processing in Calicut, Kerala, on October, 26, 2016.

India’s food processing sector is growing YoY and offers great opportunities to entrepreneurs willing to invest in the sector.

Domain knowledge also is an important factor in the making of a confident entrepreneur, said the organizers.

The programme aims at imparting the required domain knowledge in the field of Food processing for those who aspire to be entrepreneurs in this field along with the essential inputs on starting their own ventures, the organizers added.

Anybody possessing Degree in any branch of Science, Diploma/ Degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology can join the programme.

During the programme experts from NITC , Food processing Industry, Financing Institutions & Government Departments will deliberate on different subjects.

Major industries constituting the food processing sector are grain milling, sugar, edible oils, beverages, fruits & vegetables processing and dairy products.

The contribution of the food processing sector to the Gross Value Addition (GVA) in 2014-15 amounts to INR 1.43 Trillion at 2011-12 prices. In 2014-15, GVA in food processing grew by 5.78%. (KNN Bureau)
