Technotex trade fair to promote technical textile industry

Mumbai, Mar 18 (KNN) To encourage the government, buyers and industry to contribute to robust growth strategies in the field of technical textile, the Ministry of Textiles and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) are organising an international trade fair on textiles technology.
The third international exhibition and conference on technical textiles ‘Technotex’ will be held from March-20 to 22 here.
More than 200 exhibitors including manufacturers of technical textiles, technology providers, raw material suppliers, chemical consultants, R &D companies and textile institutions will be showcasing their products and capabilities among the direct target audience.
The three-day event focuses on technical textiles in the country. It also features concurrent conference and excellent facilities of business centres such as lounge, restaurants, information desk, state pavilion, travel and transport desk and business information centre.
It will witness visitors from sectors like automotive, medical, packaging, sport gears, safety product, construction, defence, oil and gas, chemical, agriculture, food, logistics, PSUs, geo, mobile container and landfill textiles.
The participants will be provided a platform for actual business transactions and network opportunities.
The conference programme will cover the topics like ‘Accelerating Technical Textile usage and strengthening institutional buying: Defence Institutions’, ‘accelerating technical textile usage and strengthening institutional buying: medical, police and security institutions’,’ strategies for promoting investment in technical textile sector’, ’accelerating Technical Textile usage and strengthening institutional buying: rail and road institutions’, ‘accelerating technical textile usage and strengthening institutional buying: agriculture and Sports Institutions’.
Technical textiles are an important part of the textile industry although its potential is still largely untapped in India. With increase in disposable income, the consumption of technical textile is expected to increase. (KNN/ST)
