Telecom products PLI application closing date extended till August 5

New Delhi, July 20 (KNN) The deadline for participating in the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for design-led manufacturing of telecom and networking products has been extended till August 5, 2022.

Earlier the last day for applying for the central government backed scheme was July 20, 2022.

According to the official statement of Ministry of Communications released on Tuesday the extension is in view of the requests made by some of the interested companies and for wider participation.

The registration process for applicants for Design-led manufacturing under the PLI Scheme for Telecom and Networking Products has started from June 21, 2022.

Providing applicants an additional incentive of 1 per cent for incremental production, the design-led manufacturing plan will operate under the umbrella of telecom PLI.

The scheme for the telecom sector was first announced in February 2021 with an incentive outlay of Rs 12,195 crore.

As part of the plan applications of 31 global companies and eight local companies were approved who have collectively pledged to undertake incremental production worth Rs 1.82 trillion over the next five years.  (KNN Bureau)
