Tex Trends India to showcase country strength in garment

New Delhi, Jan 18 (KNN) Over 380 exhibitors displaying a diverse range of apparel and garment products will participate in the Tex Trends India exhibition to be held here from January 20.  

Union Textiles Minister KS Rao will inaugurate the two-day sourcing window.

The event will feature over 380 exhibitors displaying diverse range of products from the entire length and breadth of the country, said a release from Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).

As many as 3264 global buyers and 442 buying agents have already registered for the fair.

The newly appointed Chairman of AEPC, Virender Uppal said in a statement, “The idea of holding these shows is to leverage the strengths of India’s garment and textiles from fibre to fashion. The entire value chain has been brought under the ambit by organizing these three fairs. Fibre, fabric, fashion, accessories, etc. will be brought under the single platform for manufacturer, traders and exporters. It will act as an exclusive rostrum for brand promotion, networking and business opportunity for national and international textile industries to show its visibility of the entire textile fraternity.”

He said garment sector is critical for Indian economy with respect of the defined benefits to spurring manufacturing, empowering women and SMEs and employment generation.

The other two fairs included Source Zone and India Market Days.

A blend of the traditional and the modern, Tex-Trends India 2014, will be the biggest ever event on Indian textiles.  (KNN/ST)
