Textile Ministry to host handloom and handicrafts camps pan India

New Delhi, Aug 29 (KNN) Aiming at encouraging the handloom and handicraft sector in the country, the Ministry of Textile has announced handloom and handicraft workshops titled Hastkala Sahyog Shivir to be conducted across the country.

The handloom and handicraft camps will take place in the different regions and districts from 7th October to 17th of October.

The Ministry will conduct these programs in more than 200 handloom and handicraft clusters of the country through the block Level Clusters & Weavers’ Service Centres. The camps will be carried out in association with the different respective state governments.

According to a press release by the government, a number of services including issuance of credit facilities through MUDRA scheme, assistance for technological upgradation under Hathkargha Samvardhan Sahayata and access to Common Service Centre facilities will be facilitated through these camps.

Also the Ministry will distribute tool kits and equipment to the weavers and also help them with the issuing of the yarn passbook.

In order to facilitate the weaver – market connect, during the camps, there will be dedicated events facilitating the buyer as well as the seller through meets and exhibitions. (KNN/DA)
