Bhubaneswar, Feb 24 (KNN) South Asian apparel manufacturing leader MAS Holdings initiated construction of its inaugural venture at the MAS Apparel Park-Bhuinpur in Odisha's Khurda district on Sunday.

The facility, situated on a 60-acre plot, represents a significant expansion into the Indian market for the Singapore-based company.

The integrated textile facility, approved by the high-level clearance authority (HLCA) under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's leadership, involves an investment of Rs 1,211.87 crore.

MAS Holdings projects the creation of 10,000 jobs and anticipates attracting investments exceeding USD 140 million over the next decade.

Production at the facility is scheduled to begin in 2026, with operations focused on manufacturing value-added apparel products for both domestic and international markets.

MAS India CEO Malik Ahamadeen emphasised the strategic importance of partnering with the Odisha government, noting that the collaboration aims to establish a robust apparel ecosystem in the region.

The project is expected to strengthen the local textile sector while fostering broader economic development and employment opportunities.

Group CEO Suren Fernando highlighted India's crucial role in the company's operations, citing the country's potential in both global supply chain operations and its expanding domestic retail sector.

The ceremony was attended by special secretary Subhendra Kumar Nayak, along with representatives from Idco and IPICOL, marking the official commencement of this significant industrial development.
