Bangladeshi exporters seek cooperation from Indian counterparts for global apparel marketing
New Delhi, Oct 18 (KNN) Garment manufacturers and exporters of Bangladesh have asked Indian apparel sector to improve cooperation between them in area of global apparel marketing.
Addressing the press conference in Dakha on Monday Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan said, “Bangladesh and India do not compete but complement each other in the international market for readymade garment (RMG) exports to the global market,” reported East Mojo.
“We want to enhance the cooperation for a win-win situation,” he added stating that their factories largely depend on raw materials from the neighbouring country.
We import most raw materials like cotton and petrochemicals from India for apparel production in our factories, he said stressing that the trade body was set to stage a mega event next month for branding their products.
He further explained the background of their week-long Made in Bangladesh Week starting from November 12, 2022.
