Govt initiatives to help Apparel Industry focus on market and product diversification: AEPC

Gurugram, Feb 23 (KNN) The government’s key initiatives such as FTA with Australia and UAE, increase in funds for RoSCTL, ATUFS, interest equalization scheme, PM MITRA, MAI grants will help apparel Industry to focus on market and product diversification, Chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) Naren Goenka said on Wednesday.

Addressing the AEPC’s 45th Foundation Day celebration in Gurugram, Goenka said, “We are also grateful to the Ministry of Textiles for constituting the Textile Advisory Group for the MMF segment. This will help us in creating new opportunities in the MMF segment.”

The export promotion council has played an important role in the export growth story of India through Buyer-Seller Meets (BSM) in different parts of the world.

This year, the council organized a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet – UPNEXT India with specific focus on Japan, a key FTA partner country at the Apparel House. This was the first RBSM in a series of many planned for the next few months with specific focus on FTA market countries, Chairman AEPC underlined.

During his address, the AEPC chairman pointed out that in the coming years, the council will provide full support to achieve Government‘s target of USD 2 trillion-dollar by 2030.

The event was attended by Gautam Nair, Chairman EP, HKL Magu, past Chairman AEPC and other EC Members.  (KNN Bureau)
