Indian kidswear exports to UAE drop by 32% despite FTA

New Delhi, Jan 3 (KNN) In spite of the India-UAE Free Trade Agreement (FTA), India’s exports of kidwears segment to UAE has significantly declined by 32 per cent in the period of January to October, 2022.

In terms of values, India’s exports of kidswear products in the UAE market have fallen to USD 67.69 million in the review period as compared to USD 99.30 million in the same period of 2022.

This is a major area of concern for India and the overall export revenues in kidswear segment in the given period is USD 1.02 billion.

In view of growth India grew by 11.80 per cent on yearly basis in its kidswear exports, as per government data.

UAE being one of the top markets of India saw a drop by around 32 per cent.

While exports to USA (USD 393.04 million), UK (USD 167.76 million), Germany (USD 46.59 million) and France (USD 40.5 million) witnessed a decent growth.  (KNN Bureau)
