Indian textiles tally $21.15 bn exports in Q1, Q2 of FY23

New Delhi, Dec 23 (KNN) From April to October, 2022 the textile exports from India has touched USD 21.15 billion so far, said Union MoS for Textiles, Darshana Jardosh in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha on Friday.

She further informed that the government has taken cognizance of the potential for boosting exports of Indian textiles in view of a large global market.

During the last financial year the total Textiles & Apparel exports including Handicrafts was USD 44.44 billion.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal earlier this month asserted on the confidence of achieving the textile export target of USD 100 billion by 2030.

The financial year of 2019-20 and 2020-21 saw falling of textile exports as the record dropped from USD 35.18 billion to USD 31.59 billion, respectively.

Textile exports during 2017-18 and 2018-19 touched USD 37.55 billion and USD 38.40 billion, separately.  (KNN Bureau)
