Textiles Ministry selects 61 applications with investment scope of Rs 19,077 cr under PLI scheme

New Delhi, April 16 (KNN) The Ministry of Textiles has selected 61 applications out of total 67 applications under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme with a total investment estimation of Rs. 19,077 crore.

The projected turnover is Rs 184,917 crore for over a period of 5 years with a proposed direct employment of 240,134. 

Fr0m the total applications, 15 applications are under Part-1 and 52 applications are under Part-2.

The PIL scheme offers financial incentives to boost domestic manufacturing related to 13 sectors. 

It aims to give companies incentives on incremental sales fr0m products manufactured in domestic units covering 13 sectors with a applicability period of four to six-year depending on the sector.

The government has pressed on the potential of technical textiles, stating that sectors such as geo-textiles need to be encouraged to accelerate demand, use and intensive research and development activities. (KNN Bureau)
