The ‘Jute Mark India’ logo likely to help boost exports

New Delhi, July 11 (KNN) To certify the authencity of Jute products, the central government launched the ‘Jute Mark India’ logo on Saturday.

The certification is expected to provide a boost to the domestic market and export of jute products from India.

Each Jute Mark Label will have a unique QR Code and by scanning it, the customers can learn about the product and the manufacturer.

Speaking at the logo unveiling ceremony, Union textile secretary U. P. Singh said, “It is an initiative to promote and protect Indian jute products.”

“Jute Mark India (JMI) scheme will provide collective identification and assurance about the origin and quality for traditional jute and jute products. Therefore JMI will be the hallmark of powerful creative work, which will make the jute product the quality,” the National Jute Board said in a statement.

The JMI scheme came into effect under an umbrella scheme for the development of the jute sector between FY’2022 and FY’2026 with a total financial outlay of Rs 485.58 crore by the Centre. (KNN Bureau)
