Traders not a part of today’s bandh; trading community upset with Congress over Singhvi’s appearance in Walmart case: CAIT

New Delhi, Sept 10 (KNN) Traders are not participating in the Bharat bandh call given today, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has said lambasting the role of senior Congress Leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi for appearing on behalf of Walmart in National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) couple of days back against trading community.

In a statement, CAIT had said that neither it has given any call for Bharat Bandh on 10th September nor it has given support to any such call of few political parties.

The markets across the Country will remain open as usual on 10th of September.

The clarification was issued in the wake of some rumours about CAIT giving call for Bharat Bandh today.

CAIT National President B.C.Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that the CAIT has called for a Bharat Trade Bandh on 28th September against Walmart Flipkart deal and FDI in retail trade.

CAIT said the appearance of Singhvi is taken as stand of the Congress to promote and encourage MNCs to monopolise the retail trade at the cost of valid interests of the small businesses of the Country.
