Emphasising on government’s effort to not allow e-commerce and large format retail wipe out corner shops and neighbourhood stores, he said that ONDC will help small traders benefit from the digital world.

Speaking on practices which harm small traders and retailers, the minister said that several aspects were being investigated by the ED with regards to the preferential treatment to certain sellers where e-commerce giants such as Amazon Flipkart held stake.

He also alleged that these practices led to exploitation of sellers on these platforms.

Referring to the condition of small retailers in countries such as the US, he said that the government of India do not want that to happen in India.  (KNN Bureau)
