Gurgaon, May 20 (KNN) The Central Institute of Plastics, Engineering and Technology (CIPET) has invited applications for specialized knowledge oriented programmes on laboratory accreditation.

CIPET, that falls under the purview of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers is an accredited premier national Institution for academic, technology support and research (ATR) activities that would pave the way for the growth of plastics and allied industries in the country.

The training programme is organized here for owners, middle level executives, decision makers and professional technical staff in testing and calibration labs.

The programme aims towards the implementation of better quality management systems in laboratories.

The concept of laboratory accreditation was developed to provide a means for third-party certification of the competence of laboratories to perform specific types of testing and calibration.

It provides formal recognition of competent laboratories, thus providing a ready means for customers to find reliable testing and calibration services in order to meet their demands.

Significantly, it enhances customer confidence in accepting testing / calibration reports issued by accredited laboratories.

CIPET operates on hub and spokes model with 23 locations spread across the country with 16 centres at places such as Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur etc.

All the CIPET centres have state of art infrastructural facilities in the areas of design, CAD/CAM/CAE, tooling and mould manufacturing, plastics processing, testing and quality control to cater to the needs of polymer and allied industries in the country. (KNN)
