Union Minister Smriti Irani encourages traders for digitization to gain competitive edge globally

New Delhi, Feb 24 (KNN) Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani has urged the traders and business community of the country to upgrade and modernise its existing business format under Digital India mission initiated by the central government to live up to the expectations and meet global challenges.

She said this while delivering a keynote address to top 150 trade leaders of the country who gathered at New Delhi for two days National Traders Conference organised by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).  

Speaking at the conference, Irani lauded the role of CAIT for consolidating the business community and imparting them awareness to adopt and accept new and innovative ways of conducting business activities.

“Traders of the Country have given sacrifices every time whenever it was needed whether it was freedom struggle movement or socio economic development of the country or meeting the dire need of providing daily consumables to the people of India during the covid pandemic in last two years even at the cost of their own sufferings,” she added.

The Minister also called upon the trade leaders to document the traders who have helped the country in various capacities whether economical, social, religious, educational or in any another field.

The traders of India have a legacy of serving the country, she said refereeing to Bhamashah and Lala Lajpat Rai and called the traders “Covid Warrirors” as well. (KNN Bureau)
