UP CM instructs officers to take necessary action to further improve the power situation

Lucknow, Nov 3 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has directed officers to take effective steps to further improve the power scenario in the state.
He added that the energising of four transmission centres in the month of October was a major step in the direction of providing 16-hour power supply to villages and 22- 24 hours electricity to urban areas from October 2016, according to a release.
Yadav, on Monday, reviewed the power department at his official residence.
In October 2015, 400 KV sub station in Aligarh, 132 KV in Meerut, 132 KV in Sitapur and 132 KV sub-station in Hardoi were energised.
The chief minister also asked power officers to keep all power sub-stations, transformers and lines spruced up, in the wake of the festival of Diwali and ensure that the field staff is vigilant all the time.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that the state government was committed to providing better and more power to the people of the state and a lot of work was being done in the generation, transmission and distribution areas and directed officers to promptly complete the projects that were underway.
He also stressed the need of power conservation and exploration of alternate energy sources like solar energy, so that more power can be produced.
During the meeting, officers told the Chief Minister that special emphasis was being given to improve power supply in rural areas, under which power substations were being established for power supply in tehsils. (KNN Bureau)
