Viksit Bharat 2047 to Power India’s Rise as Global Manufacturing & Export Hub, Says Minister Kumaraswamy
New Delhi, Mar 25 (KNN) Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said that 'Viksit Bharat-2047’ is a comprehensive roadmap to transform India into a premier global manufacturing powerhouse and a high-value export hub.
"The focus is on positioning the nation as a critical node in global supply chains through indigenous innovation and large-scale manufacturing excellence," he said during a meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Heavy Industries at New Parliament Building in New Delhi.
The discussions during the Consultative committee meeting focussed on manufacturing growth and the transition to sustainable energy.
Addressing the participants, Kumaraswamy stated that the vision of Viksit Bharat is 'Make in India, Make for the World'.
He also acknowledged the role of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities.
A detailed presentation on the progress of Vande Bharat trains was made by BHEL, outlining advancements in indigenous manufacturing and technology development.
This was followed by a presentation by NITI Aayog on the transition to sustainable green energy, focusing on strategies for achieving a low-carbon and energy-efficient future.
Members of the Consultative Committee participated in discussions and offered suggestions on strengthening manufacturing competitiveness and advancing the green energy transition.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Kamran Rizvi, Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries; Anshu Bharadwaj, Project Director at NITI Aayog; and K. Sadashiv Murthy, Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL, along with representatives from the Ministry, NITI Aayog and BHEL.
