WB hopes to attract Rs 37,000 cr investment in textile

Kolkata, June 29 (KNN) Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government has pegged Rs 37,000 crore investments, mostly from the private sector,   through 1o textile clusters or parks under Integrated Textile Development project over the next three years.

The project, on PPP model, is expected to provide employment to as many as 6-10 lakh people.

According to a media report quoting State MSME Secretary Rajiva Sinha, the infrastructure, development and expenditure part of these projects will be about Rs 9,159 crore.

These parks, involving hosiery, ready-made garments and knitting, will come up at Barasat, Bankura, Metiabruz, Uluberia, Salt Lake, among other places. (KNN/JN)
